natural pistriping

WTF IS THIS??????????
:)))

well...
what i can say is that i had polished the tank down to bare metal...
sprayed the varnish (i'm not sure it's called like this in english)...
and let it dry!

i was abroad for 2 months...
so when i got back home..
THAT'S WHAT I FOUND!!

ANYBODY HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE???

  1. I get the exact same thing under the clearcoat on my aluminum wheels. I've never figured out what causes it. Obviously my problem doesn't cause rust and it doesn't seem to affect the clearcoat either. I've tried buffing and polishing but you have to remove the clearcoat completely to get to the marks.

    ooooooooh...
    what a relief!!!

    i am not alone here!

my friend, who's far more experienced with the bikes, told me that it was probably somekind of micro-organisms... that stayed alive on the steel after polishing it... survived the clearcoat spraying.. moved for a while... and hopefully died!

    we will see!
i'll be back home checking the tank in 3-4 months!
only god knows what i will find there!!
